Sorry. Still no video posts. Life is a little to hectic still to have the quiet time necessary to shoot a video post. Hopefully things calm down a bit in the near future and I can get those videos back up
and running.
With that said, those 2lbs. I was trying to lose last week…yeah…try +6. I’m 166lbs which ties for my highest weight ever. I’m officially a fat cow. If I get up to 170 I’m going to cry. This would make me a lousy weight loss contestant since the scale seems to be going in the wrong direction. lol.
While my sugar addiction is still not completely under control I’m slowly weaning myself off the sweet stuff. However, my biggest issue has been my inactivity. With my mom back in the hospital and playing mommy to a house full of children coupled with the fact that I can’t drive, I haven’t been able to leave the house to go to the gym or go running or anything that involves me leaving the house. Also I hat doing exercise tapes, so this has maid me about as active as a sloth and, as you can see, I’m definitely paying for it.
Today though, I realized that I can make good use of our rather large yard. Running around that sucker 10 times definitely burns some calories, coupled with the exercises I was doing in the house (now I do them outside, works much better) I have an exercise routine I can be happy with and (hopefully) will work.
Now, Hey and Hello to ou new member in the fitness challenge! I’m happy you have joined. What I need from all of the contestants is the following:
1. Your real names. I just have screen names. Can’t do much with those.
2. Your e-mail addresses. For me to send you login info. for Sweet Potato Pie so I can get those pics and updates:-)
3. Your addresses so Ms Tracy can send you your t-shirts and sweatshirts as you reach your first 10 and 20lbs.
You can send all of this information to sweetpotatopie07@gmail.com.
Well that’s it for me now. Hopefully next week I will be able to put up a video and will have some good news regarding my weight.
Today is a new day. So, what are you waiting for?
Hey Sweetie! You are not a fat cow, YOU ROCK!! Can I give you a little tip about the sugar craze? I always go thru periods when I just gotta have that candy bar, then it turns into a stack of syrup covered french toast! Damn Mother Nature!! This tip was given to me by someone that lost a bunch of weight and has kept it off for over 20 years!
Whenever you start to get your cravings and you eat a bad carb, immediately follow it by eating protein. So if you start in on the Little Debbies, grab a couple of ounces of low fat cheese, or a piece of chicken breast, or a glass of milk…that will cut your craving for sugar and help fill you up and make you feel more satisfied…I have tried it , it works.
Take care of yourself, and don’t be so hard on yourself! You can do it Ms. Johnson! The Diva’s are pullin for you!
Women’s bodies are complex machines and we have to learn to be aware of what makes our own body tick. When we factor in stress, there is even more to learn. So, take a breath and deal with these stressful issues like you are (by running in the yard) and to figure out what else may alleviate some of the stressors that you are facing.
I find that eating some quality protein helps with the hunger and the cravings. I also find that small portions of protein throughout the day really helps ease the cravings. If you want sugar, reach for some dark chocolate because it can help with that particular craving and not be a total distraction from your goal.
I’m with Tracy: take care of yourself!
[...] Ultimately I don’t have any major words of wisdom, but to keep going to the gym, doing those videos and waking up and running. I think you have to be very methodical about it. Tracking your weight, being congzinant of what you eat and making the necessary changes if what you’re currently doing isn’t working. Basically you just keep pluggin away because the alternative isn’t an option. [...]
